Sign the code on OS X and Windows.

This should be done by the CIs.

Add download links to the main readme

Those should always point to the recently published files. Ideally, we do not need to update the links on each release.

The underlying LS silently fails when Java is not present on the host environment.

This is probably a Theia issue. Let's discuss it here first before moving the ticket.
