After the initial run from a fresh install, the OSD and safe shutdown script seems to stop working. I can manually shutdown with the emulation station menu. However, at the end of the shutdown i see a Kernel Panic and mention of BCM2835 before iI flip the switch to then kill power. I also seem to get occasional disk checks when booting. Cant be sure it is related but I did also change the ES theme and added a video splash.

Just to update, can now confirm that enabling a splashscreen whatsoever seems to disrupt the normal operation of your OSD and power switch script. Disabling the splash screen does not fix it. Only a clean image on the SD card will.

As mentioned in my post here: https://sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=9367&p=83843#p83843 I retried the manual installation of the OSD and shutdown on a fresh 4.7.1 image. The issues noted for the prerelease image dont appear to occur.
