Changes to preferences are not reflected until the editor is reloaded.

I was excited to see this project and thanks for bringing it back.

I am not able to see any lines in my Java code. (Update: see comment below). My eclipse version is: Luna Service Release 1 (4.4.1)

Update: it does work! It only requires a little kick here and there. After changing the preferences, it works only after reloading the file.

I am updating the title of the bug to reflect this.
