Make Shiplane work for Git alternatives
This probably is due some discussion, but Shiplane should support other popular Repo technologies.
What kind of alternatives? Mercurial & SVN? Glancing at the very limited statistics, it seems that git is the clear winner and the other options only take up a very small marketshare. I’d argue to close this issue until someone specifically requests this, which seems doubtful considering the Rails community seems very all in on git. Just my 2 cents.
So, one thing to keep in mind is that I'm not targetting Shiplane only at the Rails community. The fact that it is written in Ruby right now makes it most accessible to them, but I do want it to be consumable for others as well. I was definitely thinking Mercurial and SVN as alternatives. However, I also figure it's important accomodate Github alternatives in Bitbucket and Gitlab who are somewhat popular in their own rights. I created this issue primarily to give people the thumbsup that this was a thing that I'd love to accept a PR for.
