trigger container switch by domainchange
first of all, thank you so much for the great work. I'm using the plugin to containerize facebook, additional to content blocking, so that it can not as easily follow me around.
Would it be possible to trigger container switches when switching domain (i.e. clicking on a link) so that the facebok cookie alwas remains isolated?
As a user of containers to split two authentication schemes, there are cases where it'd be useful for me, and cases where it might hurt me.
My suggestion would be to make this behavior configurable on a per-match basis, rather than have it as a global behavior.
Hey guys, I'm giving this extension a test drive and after configuring some domain-extension mappings, I don't experience this issue. Perhaps this was implemented but @kintesh didn't close the issue?
As @doronbehar says, it seems to be working and the author doesn't have an account anymore.
@DavidPineauScality If this is still a problem, could you explain what you mean by "splitting to authentication schemes"? Are you talking about OAuth? OpenID? SAML?
Furthermore could you describe a scenario that "hurts you"?
@LoveIsGrief let me describe a bit more my situation, as I was not using the right terms (and do not know which are the relevant ones actually):
With my company, I'm using JIRA with the company's SSO, which is connected to bitbucket for VCS handling and code versioning; which is using my personal account.
As such, I need to separate cookies and such for the two domains, and ensure that whenever I click on a link to one of these, it uses the right container to get the authentication from the right cookies etc.
As for the scenario that might hurt another user would be for instance, separating two different accounts to the same platform using containers. For instance, I'm using GH with both a personal and a professional (company-email-related) account. If the add-on forces a container switch whenever a click to GH is clicked, I would have no way to automate opening the tab in a relevant container for whichever activity I'm currently engaged in.
Hopefully this answer clarifies my worries relatively to the proposal.
