That is a good point. You can probably send a command to monit and have it do the restart but that's not very helpful if you don't have monit running....

When you say "mopidy crashes", what exactly do you observe? I think pimusicbox has a monitoring mechanism that restarts Mopidy if certain conditions are met but I don't know what...
