$(arch) in WindTerm shell returns i386 on macOS with M1 chip

Open matteoweng opened this issue 2 years ago • 1 comments

On M1 Mac, under shell in WindTerm, the echo $(arch) command return i386. But it should be arm64, and in macOS Terminal.app, it did return arm64.

Any wrong configuration I need to change, or it is some bug in the software? Thanks. WindTerm version 2.4.1

Sorry for the late reply.

I think this is because WindTerm is an i386 application, not an arm64 application. Since the arm64 version of Qt 5.15 will not be released until next year, there will be no arm64 version of WindTerm for the time being. Please stay tuned, thank you.

Any updates?

Sorry, there has been no progress yet. As WindTerm 3.1.0 will switch to Qt 6.5 for development, the original plan to create an ARM version using Qt 5.15.9 has been canceled. Please be patient and wait for a while, as the ARM version will be provided in the second half of the year and is expected to be available around October. This plan will not be delayed again. I also hope to launch the ARM version as soon as possible.
