Hi team,
On first launch, my windterm was in french, and i saw plural errors. So here some things i've seen : For terminal control on the bottom of the UI : Shell translated as "Coquille" ; In french, we use the english term Shell. In Preferences : The close button is translated as "Proche" (English equivalent : Next) instead of Quitter (Quit)
If others Next buttons are translated Proche, the french denomination for it is "Suivant" instead of "Proche"
In logs menu (Session -> Logs), Launch is translated Départ, best translation : "Démarrer" or "Lancer"
In GoTo menu, fold is translated "Pli", best translation : Classeur or Chemise or Dossier (didn't used this feature yet so don't know which is best)
For menu View, best translation : "Vue" instead of "Voir" In View menu, for Anything Palette : Palette générale (or Palette globale) instead of "Palette n'importe quoi)
It's all for the moment, i'll update this issue in time with other remarks.
The french translation is 100% computer generated. I would suggest to thow away all the french translation and wait someone to translate it again. Windterm was in french too for me. ^^
By editing the "Path:\WindTerm\global\locales\fr.locale", the translation problem would be solved but sorry that seems there still no native French speakers did this. If someone is willing to contribute, I think it may be good news for everyone.
Hello, I will do my best to translate by myself the french file (I'm french) I will post the final file as soon as I will consider it 🆗
Here is a french file (much more french than Google translation :D ) fr.zip
Sorry for the late reply. Because I've been sick recently.
Thank you all. At present, each new version will have a lot of new features, which usually lead to large changes in strings and are not conducive to translation, so machine translation is adopted. I will provide a better way of translating as suggested in #301 when the program strings are stable.
@EvoWebFrance Thank you very much for your hard work.
If possible, I would like to include your translation files in the WindTerm_2.3.1
version with your permission. Thanks again.
@EvoWebFrance I modified the translation of the following strings as suggested by @LuxNegra:
"en": "&Anything Palette", "mt": "Saisie libre(&A)" -> "Palette générale(&A)",
"en": "&Shell", "mt": "Terminal(&S)" -> "Shell(&S)",
"en": "Shell", "mt": "Terminal" -> "Shell",
"en": "View (&6)", "mt": "Voir(&6)" -> "Vue(&6)",
@EvoWebFrance
Hello, I'm preparing to release the WindTerm_2.3.1
bugfix version, would you allow me to include your translation file in the new release?
@kingToolbox Hello, sure you can and I will install the latest version and have a look to the FR translation. Otherwise can you give me the file I sent with new sentences of V2.3.1 ? Perhaps you can send me the file before releases to let me translate the file.
@EvoWebFrance Thank you very much, I have used your translation in the latest WindTerm_2.4.0_Prerelease_1 version. :smile:
If there are new strings that need to be translated, they will always be appended to the end of the global/locales/fr.locale
file. You only need to translate and upload it here after the official version is released, and I will update it to the next bugfix
or prerelease
version.
I am currently focusing on developing new features. However, I will consider placing the .locale
files on this repository or a professional translation website as suggested in #301 by @mzky in the future. It will be more convenient to translate at that time.
Here is the French Local file for the latest pre-release.
fr.zip
But I saw some missing sentences in local file :
:-)
The sentence Use the existed ".wind" directory in the selected directory. is present in the .local file but not detected. Perhaps the tripple backslash mismatch the search in json file ?
@EvoWebFrance
After two busy days of fixing bugs, it was great to get an update on your translation file so quickly. I will include it in the new 2.4.1
bugfix version and I will also fix the problem with the two sentences you mentioned. Thank you very much!
@EvoWebFrance
I have updated your French
translation in the new 2.4.1 version, thank you again. As you pointed out, the tripple backslash in the sentence \\\".wind\\\"
caused the translation to fail. I have fixed all of them. There is no problem with Profiles Directory
, and it can be translated normally.
In order to make the translated file easier to translate, I have concentrated all untranslated sentences at the end of the document, which I believe will bring some convenience. :smile:
Hello @kingToolbox Here is the French File with a lot of modifications due to experience using the software 😄 fr.zip
I will make some minor modifications in the future because some unique english words can be translated as different french words depending where it is used in a sentence. For example : count --> comptage, compter, compte, nombre, etc...
@EvoWebFrance
Sorry for replying so late, I just got back from a business trip.
I've updated your translation in the WindTerm_2.5.0
and later versions, it's great, thank you so much.
Hi,
I'm testing WindTerm and I see different behavior between English and French languages. I wonder if it's related to translation.
With french language selected, I have extra letters after menu elements
While I don't have them with English language
I looked at the file global/locales/fr.locale but I don't see this extra letters.
Any idea ?
