Downloading old versions of the packages

Open alinefm opened this issue 8 years ago • 1 comments

Firstly reported at https://github.com/kimchi-project/wok/issues/179

The readme.md file cites a location for downloads as wget http://kimchi-project.github.io/ginger/downloads/ginger-2.0.0-0.noarch.deb I get a 404 for this location. http://kimchi-project.github.io/ginger/downloads/ reports it's version 2.3.0 with no links to previous versions for older versions of the packages. I understand the desire to keep compatibility with the latest distro versions, but having access to the older versions with the understanding that they are unsupported would be a good idea.

@indyspike to keep older versions of Ginger in the downloads page would require other 2 projects that Ginger depends on to do the same (https://github.com/kimchi-project/wok and https://github.com/kimchi-project/gingerbase ). Otherwise you won't be able to installl the older Ginger package.

It's something that I need to discuss with @alinefm but it is feasible.

Meanwhile what I'm going to do is to fix the readme.md to remove the reference of this old Ginger package.
