Report based on Activity
(Side note: You can open a category "feature request" item in Discussions as well. Maybe, it is a god idea to close that category).

The issue is that I like to track similar activities to get an idea where my time goes.
It would be great to have an answer to the following questions:
- How much time did I spend on the phone?
- How many hours did I do video conferences?

I like to have a global report which is grouped by activities and not grouped by customers and projects.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Alternative solution is to manually sum up similar activities in all projects.

Take the standard report, remove customers and projects and sum up the time spend in equal activities.

I added an example mockup, you could replace "project" by "project / customer" or "customer / project".
I think it is not bad having the discussion category as well, as it can be used to discuss an idea first and work out details. And I can already say whether it is worth opening a feature request or if I will reject it anyway. I know its a duplication, but it helps to keep the issue tracker a bit cleaner.
Regarding the report, there should be (at least) two modes:
- grouping by timesheets, so we see times based per project and activity
- grouping by activity only: will be same as above for non-global activities, but global activities will be summed up
