DNS Problems - Manual ONC

Open EDED24 opened this issue 11 months ago • 17 comments

Unfortunately, chrome://network#state has been disabled by my school's organization. Is there any way else to get the ONC data?

Nope. Can you check the Settings app -> Wifi -> Your Wifi Network -> Name Servers? Can you type in it?

I see DNS servers. Is there specific format you have to type it in? (Im not very good at this type of stuff) And also chrome://network is disabled too

If you can type in the DNS servers, first, write down the IP addresses inside the textboxes or take a screenshot. Do not lose these addresses as they are your "revive".

After you write it down, type in:

38.175.197.10 66.94.105.229 213.109.163.210 92.60.37.102

In each textbox. (One address per textbox)

I typed in all of the DNS servers you sent and when I did everything froze and nothing was loading. I mightve done it wrong. Also Im on school network right now, will this work on it? Also im on macbook.

DNS servers I'll check. My end shows it's good.

MacBooks don't have Chrome://network, FYI.

Can you try 66.94.105.229 only?

killsecurly avatar Feb 13 '25 20:02 killsecurly

Nope that doesnt work either. Everything freezes.

EDED24 avatar Feb 13 '25 21:02 EDED24

Hm. I'll look into it, thanks.

@EDED24 The DNS has been set up again. Please test

killsecurly avatar Feb 24 '25 20:02 killsecurly

Sorry for the late reply, I just tested the DNS again and they still don't work. fyi im changing the DNS servers through my network settings is that fine?

It's fine. Try 167.86.91.171, it works for us.

killsecurly avatar Feb 25 '25 18:02 killsecurly

Nope, that doesn't work either.

EDED24 avatar Feb 26 '25 15:02 EDED24

It works for me!

Hm. Maybe it is a MacOS issue? ChromeOS and MacOS may resolve DNS differently. If it is that case, I'm sorry, I can't develop for Mac as I personally do not have access to one for testing.

killsecurly avatar Feb 28 '25 05:02 killsecurly

Yeah its probably a MacOS issue. It's alright, thank you for everything.
