[FR] Ignore Members only Videos
Hey, my problem is that my Pending section is getting filled with failed members only videos that I don't want. A good Example is LTT. They have many Members only videos and when I download the whole channel my Pending section gets flooded with failed downloads.
It would be nice to have a filter in a source to ignore Member's only Videos. Or something similar like exclude Shorts in the Media Profile
Hey there! Thanks for the request (and sorry for the delayed reply)
This is a fairly tricky one to solve for all users. The app is already set up to not immediately retry videos that fail due to being members-only, but it does give it another shot every time the source is indexed. If you have fast indexing enabled, this could effectively mean that it retries every few minutes which is less than ideal
On the other hand, I don't want to start outright ignoring them since users may not have set up their YouTube cookies yet or maybe they eventually become a channel member - I'd want to make sure that videos get downloaded in that case and there isn't some huge manual intervention needed.
I can't think of a mechanism off the top of my head to both avoid needless retries AND have everything Just Work™ if the user adds their cookies/becomes a member. I'll keep this issue open as a placeholder, but I'd love to hear suggestions if anyone has them 🤙

Sources -> Downloading Options - (or add a heading for Error handling which could be expanded upon in future)
add a Toggle to react to specific wording in the error.
Join this channel to get access to members-only content like this video, and other exclusive perks
appears to be the standard YT response so could this be easily tested for?
Expanding a bit by offering user choice. Add an option list to leave in pending for manual intervention / Delete and Ignore (default) (routine already exists for this) / prompt to use or update cookie file.
When a user then does become a member they switch this off per source.

What is the impediment to adding an option in the source?
Running into this too, I have 28 pages of pending some of which are fast syncing so the constant download attempts are annoying. Would it be possible to add a flag to videos that detected as members only? Then an option could be added to media profiles, much like the shorts and livestreams toggles, to ignore them/prevent additional download attempts. The download may still try the first time, but won't repeat.
I'd suggest if we can't get an opt-in option to automatically delete & ignore these (maybe add a warning that if you join the channel in the future you'd have to re-index or something) then at the very least make it much easier to manually manage dozens of pages of failed videos.
Some kind of "select all" and bulk actions. The current workflow requires opening each failed item and clicking actions >> delete and ignore.
This is causing me issues after having pinchflat off for a week - my pending tab is 92 pages long because most of it is members only content that I can't download, but the last weeks worth of content that isn't members only isn't being downloaded, presumably because it's spending it's time trying over and over again to download the videos it knows it can't
