Support for HTTP basic authentication
Before you start.
- [x] I have checked the Rejected Features page.
- [x] I have searched the issue tracker for a feature request that matches the one I want to file, without success.
My great idea for Fraidycat is: It would be nice if there was support for HTTP basic authentication.
I have tried the format http://user:[email protected]/ and it did not work.
Yes - this is great. This is important to me as well.
I consider this to be part of #9. I'd rather not store credentials in the URL - don't want them stored in plaintext and also don't want the URL to change if the credentials change. So I have a plan for keeping credentials separate - but it'll need to wait for Fraidycat 2.
I too would love it if Fraidycat supported basic authentication! There are several RSS feeds I can't add that are behind authentication.
