companion mode with another-window-session-manager

@nlpsuge's another-window-session-manager has implemented some degree of window position/size restoration when a session is restored. however, it doesn't handle continuous sync/restore, so there is still potential for these extensions to cooperate with and enhance one another. we've discussed some of this over email, so i will try to pull that context into this issue for posterity.
