Windows 7 and IE Privilege settings

I'm trying to use ScratchX in a classroom setting where student accounts do not have Admin privilege. When I log on with my Admin account, once the driver installs, everything works as expected. When our students log in with student accounts the driver installs but the connection icon stays yellow.

Our IT guy made a couple of tests. He logged in on a student account with our blocking software disabled. He also tested making the student a Power User. Neither of these tests fixed the problem. We're willing to keep working the problem until we can find a solution.

Do you have any ideas on how we can get around this issue without giving our students admin privilege?
