feat: Improve Death Save GM Options

Open kgar opened this issue 1 year ago • 0 comments

Update the GM options for death saves. We should be able to granularly

  • Hide the death save button
  • Hide the death save successes/failures
  • Suggested Death Save Roll Mode (Default, Private, Blind GM Roll; consider providing a dropdown for this)
    • the indicated roll mode should be pre-selected in the death save dialog, via the rollMode option when calling the death save function

Just as a clarification question, is the "hide death saves from players" flag also meant to hide the button for players to roll them, not just the results?

My table has been rolling blind death saves for years, and I was hoping to have that streamlined without people having to flag "blind GM roll" and just wanted to double check.

(Someone uploaded a bug report for this, #406, and I didn't wanna jump into the thread if it's an intended feature)

kgar — Today at 9:32 PM The GM option for this in Tidy is a holdover from the original Tidy module. I think it is not really useful in its current state.

kgar — Today at 9:51 PM I think we should revise it.

Midi has a similar function in workflow that kinda does it; you get the button and success/fail count always, but you can't see the roll

I have always run them as true blind, you roll your own, but nobody sees how close you are / aren't to stable or dead until someone comes to check on you in the chaos of combat I think I'm okay with that version of it but I think the granularity of choosing

Hiding the button Hiding the success/fail count Hiding the roll (either private or blind GM)

would be nice
