6.2.4 is utterly broken. You need to manually update to 6.2.5 or greater

I can confirm I'm also on version 6.2.5-20231231232650+3bdf76f84a and seeing the same issue as ishani

Everything worked okay yesterday (Feb 15th 2024) The only change on my side is the latest Windows Updates.

I am on Windows 11 Pro, 23H2, OS Build 22631.3155

Let me know if additional information is required.

@gonzalob #4241 (comment)

There are two different things happening here. The OP reported 6.2.4, and that's not gonna work, ever, until he manually updates his client.

fs ops on working clients seem to have broken around yesterday's scheduled backend maintenance. I'd like to think they're aware of this, and personally am waiting for it to be fixed, but have no certainty.

The situation is the same on macOS, even with the 6.3.0-20240216095854+8bf6d92c02 version.

ivan-sukhomlyn avatar Feb 16 '24 13:02 ivan-sukhomlyn

On the linux/deb and linux/rpm platforms, there isn't a release newer than 6.2.4.

Newer versions seem to only be released for windows and mac right now

samtarplee avatar Feb 16 '24 14:02 samtarplee

There's no diff is there a new version or not - it's broken for all platforms, regardless the version.

Here it is working now!

nicolasdev1 avatar Feb 16 '24 16:02 nicolasdev1

Yes, I can also confirm that it is working again :) Thanks everyone! 🙏🏻

things are back, although potentially read-only until tomorrow - as per kbio on twitter

Pretty smooth upgrade last night, but we hit some issues with KBFS this morning. KBFS will be in read-only mode until Merkle Trees are rebuilt. Might take up to 24 hours. Thanks for your patience.

After upgrading to Version 6.2.5-20240101042619+3bdf76f84a, the error is gone but private files are not loading (spinner keeps spinning, and nothing shows up though there was once error about the deadline exceeded (timeout):

Is this related to the above?

bilus avatar Feb 20 '24 08:02 bilus

Is this related to the above? @bilus I have no issues after updating to 6.2.5-20240101050825+3bdf76f84a on MacOS. I would suggest to enter a new issue for your specific case.
