Issues with Nautilus, file dialogs while running Keybase
Since the latest update of Keybase, I have issues on my work laptop running Pop!_OS 21.10, which I today found out to be https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1951075
Open and 'Save as...' dialogs would not open, freezing the application they belong too and even freezing gnome-shell. Same with trying to open the Nautilus file manager. Errors are detailed in the bug report above.
Somehow the Keybase virtual mounts give issues, even on clean boot. Quitting Keybase immediately resolves the problems.
I can confirm that this also affects Nautilus and Caja on Solus Linux. It also freezes file dialogs in web browsers and text editors.
Bump on this; started having issues recently with nautilus failing to open on Pop!_OS 22.04
When I look at the system logs I see:
(org.gnome.Nautilus:10623): GVFS-WARNING **: 16:55:07.854: The peer-to-peer connection failed: Timeout was reached. Falling back to the session bus. Your application is probably missing --filesystem=xdg-run/gvfsd privileges.
When I kill all of the keybase processes, nautilus is able to launch immediately without any problems.
Experiencing the same behavior here on Debian 12, Nautilus 43.2, Gnome 43.9, Keybase 6.5.1-20250428154451+19f9cfeddb.
The behavior is flaky. Sometimes nautilus doesn't work, then I need to keybase ctrl stop so it comes back. But then I can start keybase again and Nautilus keeps working just fine.
