Disable automatic update check
There is no way to disable automatic update checks.
It is an obnoxious and inappropriate overreach for Keybase to determine that this is necessary for all use cases.

Update was pushed to me, AV fired on it. Please allow disabling automatic updates.
This is still an issue. It is so trivial to fix. Is there a reason this should not be or has not been done?
I have the same kind request...
For me this issue is a reason to be careful trusting Keybase. The client is open-source, true. However, a silent update let's the Zoom company to put the changes into the application without making the user aware that there was any update.
I've done single accidental confirmation in the annoying update pop-up screen showing over and over again. Now there is no way back (other than uninstalling it)... It's sad that the company doesn't respect the PC owner's right to make the decision IF and WHEN to update the app.
Especially in case, when the change is really small one. Is there any hidden agenda behind this policy?
Should I believe that it's more secure for me to have the apps updated without letting me know, that something is changing?
Update is not always getting something better. Sometimes you just get something different.
Strange approach in an app that claims to support the privacy and security. LOL.
