Can't log in -- signing_kid not found
Probably a duplicate of https://github.com/keybase/client/issues/24459 based on error message, but since I have a log, and that's reported on iOS, I'll leave this as a separate bug for now.
keybase login(note: can reproduce on GUI too)- Enter keybase site username
- Enter keybase site password
- Select 'sign installation' (not import key)
- Enter a new name for this device
- Enter key password
- I get an error: "ERROR signing_kid XXXXXXXXXX not found"
I have previously been able to use the keybase client but it was 2+ years ago. I can log into the website fine. The key it wants to sign with is still present and valid. I do not have any desktop keyrings (I don't have a desktop) and my GPG settings are basically no-cache (prompt for PIN every time).
my log id: a8a0191bb9e8d9a7e053ad1c
P.S. Step 3 (enter keybase site password) is WAY too aggressive about capturing keystrokes and input. I can't switch screens with my usual awesomewm shortcuts or focus another window by clicking the mouse while it's up.
Getting the same error
I've the same error. I try to login again on my machine after some and get this error.
I, too, also get this error
This is a 2-year old bug. Please just hit the thumbs-up vote icon to avoid notifying. Thanks!
I get this with keybase login trying to sign my installation. I'm using a PGP card and therefore have to use GPG commands rather than importing my secret key into keybase. All on debian.
Using
Version 6.5.1-20250422141116+19f9cfeddb (6.5.1-20250422141116+19f9cfeddb)
just downloaded from the downloads page, and I'm getting this signing_kid <string> not found on a M1 Mac. The same error is on the Android app.
As my account is ancient, I've tried changing my keybase password (success) but still no luck getting the apps to work.
