Keeps asking for my password
Keybase GUI Version: 1.0.14-20160225170013+af685e9
The GUI keeps popping up a dialog every hour or so asking for my password. I don't feel super comfortable putting my password in my keychain, so maybe that would fix it? I'll try that next time.
Though, it kinda feels like if the program is sitting there running and I haven't logged out or restarted then it should be able to hold my password for a while. Unless the expiration is a feature?
Hi, please could you run keybase log send and tell us the ID number?
(It won't send any sensitive information.)
The ID is 58099c6c42fb4f620f18cb1c.
Huh. According to the log, you were not asked for your password more than once per day. The reason you're asked for it once per day is because Keybase updates to a new nightly build and restarts.
Any ideas on whether the log was correct?
(By the way, you're right that storing your password in the keychain will make the prompts stop.)
Okay! I'll try and keep track of my own mental state and count if it happens more than once. About the middle of the week I'll switch over to the keychain. Thanks for the clarification!
EDIT: Just asked me for my password. The count is on!
I see, I might have add it stored in my kwallet before... but this time it wasn't because my plasma was manually installed on this new Fedora laptop, probably after I installed keybase... I will try to see if I can find kwallet integration settings
