Easy way to copy URLs from chat

Open tripleee opened this issue 6 years ago • 3 comments

I don't seem to be able to copy a URL from a chat session easily.

As a Mac user, I am used to being able to control-click (or something - my muscle memory won't reveal to my conscious self with confidence which gesture exactly is the one which usually works) to copy the URL under the cursor to the clipboard.

Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to work in the Keybase client - when I control-click on a URL, I get a "copy" tooltip which however only copies the text exactly under the cursor. To capture a URL, I have to select it by painting over it, which is somewhat tedious and error-prone especially with small fonts.

I realize this request may impose cross-platform challenges if the conventional gestures differ between platforms.

This seems to be a duplicate of #10569.

Definitely the same conclusions, though that one is about Linux.

@tripleee Does this Copy URL command not appear in the context menu for you? I've a friend running Keybase in macOS and this appears when he "right-clicks" on a URL.
