macOS High Sierra full screen gets stuck in full screen

Open DavidLiedle opened this issue 6 years ago • 3 comments

Keybase GUI Version: 1.0.45-20180305194145+3a1c65a05

When the desktop GUI client is expanded to full screen view, it is no longer possible to reduce it to windowed view, as the top bar gets hidden under the macOS top bar.

Any update regarding how to fix it?

Same issue on MacOS 10.15.3

Hah! I found a way. It is still something broken in keybase client... but... a way around...

On Monterey, if you use the 'Mission Control' you can drag Keybase to a space between desktops. After you've done that, there will be a pinch arrow on the corner of the 'full screen' Keybase in Mission Control. Click on that and it will 'restore' it to a non-full-screen state on a nearby desktop. I'd guess that it would do the same on other versions of macos ... but... I've only tested it on 12.4.

mentioning #11006 and #5823 (which I think actually documents the problem better than here) so that folks might find this potential workaround until the KeyBase team stops rolling around in their Zoom cash and resolves this one. ;-)
