Find folder field in a toolbar

Is it possible to create a new field, always visible, to search folder (now it opens with Shift+G) and to add ti to a Toolbar (for example "Mail Toolbar") through "Customize" action?

Possible I'm sure. Unfortunately though I don't believe there will be a MailExtensions API to support this, so I won't be putting in the work to create one.
