Update to Google Manifest Version 3
Google is warning users that this extension is out of compliance. It looks like the reason might be that it is still on version 2 of the extension manifest standard. This simply updates the manifest version and the version of the extension. No actual functionality has been changed.
@kevinwucodes , I have gained tremendous value from Gmail Quick Links for many years. Thank you for this awesome contribution!
@Mantene , thank you for updating to Manifest 3 and submitting this pull request!
Now that Google has disabled this extension, count me among the users who would be very grateful to have it back.
Has anyone verified that this update to Manifest Version 3 resolves the issue? @kevinwucodes , are you planning a new release to bring this extension up to date with "best practices for Chrome extensions?"
@kevinwucodes , I echo earlier comments about loving this extension. If there is anything we can do to get this restored, we would be extremely grateful.
PS: In the meantime, is there any way to retrieve the previously stored quick links? I had a large number of them used frequently, and with the extension suddenly disabled, its a challenge. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can still use Quick Links. Go to the Extension Manager and you will see a list of 'Unsafe' extensions. Click the menu icon and select 'Keep for now'. You can then re-enable the extension.
I'm not sure how long Chrome will allow us to continue to use it though before it disables it altogether.
@kevinwucodes is usually fairly quick to make necessary updates so I'm surprised he hasn't addressed this issue yet. Fingers crossed he comes back to it. It's a very useful extension!!
@kevinwucodes , @stevennoto , @nrichards ... Why no progress or comments? This is a nice extension that Kevin wrote and Steve & Nick are supposed to be helping maintain. Just apply the PR and be done with it. ;-)

No that's incorrect.

It is indeed a nice extension, but I (and I suspect Nick) are just prior contributors, not maintainers. I believe that only Kevin has access to merge PR's and release new versions of the extension. And unfortunately I don't think he has been active here in quite some time.
There seem to be instructions in this thread for a workaround to the issue. For now, that may be the best/only option.

Thanks for your reply. I hope nothing bad happened to @kevinwucodes
