what is "inference directory", how is it generated ?

There is refernce of "inference directory" as input argument to a couple of scripts. Can you please guide what is an inference directory, and how is it generated?

Secondly, the code refernces "brdf-classifier" directory, is it the same as "classifier directory" ?
