Looks like the webapp doesn't work when connected to vpn

I know it used chrome engine or whatever but there is no way to add a proxy and it doesn't seem to use the system proxy.

it works while connected directly to the internet but not if I'm connected to my company VPN

It throws a common google chrome error.

https://web.whatsapp.com/?v=218.29 is unreachable. ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE

maybe add an option for proxy or make it detect system proxy like google-chrome does?

Running version 4.9 on Ubuntu 20.04

I have a similar problem. It doesn't detect the system proxy setting.
