It worked fine right up until the upgrade to 21.04 and now when I start recording I get this error. 
It was fine with nouveau driver, but after switching driver and restarting PC, gifex no longer works. Switched to nvidia-driver-440-server (proprietary, tested) on Ubuntu 20.04 with a GeForce GTX 1050...
