I would like to suggest some ideas, for the design, I wrote about it before, but I want to add to it now. Here is a list of apps whose design is really good:

• Quillnote (F-Droid repo)

• Nabu (IzzyOnDroid repo)

• Notally (F-Droid repo)

• Leaflet (https://github.com/PotatoProject/Leaflet)

• MIUI notes (proprietary, can be found on Play Market)

They have a lot in common, but different applications have their own features

From my perspective Zoho Notes and Notally apps have great, simple and logical interface so pay you attention please. Especially look at the Notally app.
