TTS still output to speaker when headphone plug in
Multiple reports, headphone/bluetooth speaker/headset, etc. Apparently Chrome TTS engine does not detect changes to system's default audio output device.
This sounds like an issue I've encountered when changing audio sources or waking up my OS from sleep mode. Although other audio sources in chrome such as video media players and like transition to the current audio source, the offline TTS engine seems to progress in reading but with out audio. The only way I've found to restore the TTS audio is by reinstalling the offline TTS engine extension (no restart of chrome or changes to read-aloud needed).

Yea, it looks like a Chrome bug, since extensions do not have control over the TTS output device.
