It seems that the HTML files in `docs/examples` are not included in the docs build directory `_build`

Hi, are you still experiencing this bug? I tried to reproduce it here http://higlass.io/app/?config=TuwAlswBRLSkikCjBlbZhw but do not see the behavior you experienced in firefox or chrome.

Note that the test does pass sometimes so it probably involves a race condition or timing issue

I notice the difference in FF too. I think there is also slightly more of the "sparkling effect". Perhaps allowing the browser to do the mipmapping rather than implementing the...

It is nice how much code this would eliminate though. We should definitely keep this around as an option in case the custom mipmapping code becomes difficult to deal with....
