macOS: Cmd+C copies password instead of selected text
Description When user selects text in one of the fields (such as Notes), Cmd+C should copy the selected text. Instead, it copies the entry's password.
How to reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Open an entry, select some text in any of the fields.
- Press Cmd+C
- Paste to another app
- Observe the pasted text is the entry's password field.
Expected behavior Clipboard should contain the selected text.
Environment:
- OS: macOS 14/15
- App Version: 2.3.163
Additional context
Same problem in KeePassXC, because of the same "Copy Password" shortcut: https://github.com/keepassxreboot/keepassxc/issues/11381
Any update on this? Copying text between fields is impossible. It's very inconvenient.
It's about to be fixed over the next week or two. In the meanwhile, the workaround is right-click + "Copy".
I have to reopen my Bug report. This issue has not been fixed with v2.4.169. When I copy a field text, KeePassium pastes entry's password.
@howdytom , can you tell me where the keyboard focus is at the time? Is it in the left panel (so pressing up/down would switch to another entry), is it in the right panel (so up/down will switch to another field), or somewhere else?
@keepassium It's happening when I am editing any entry. Seletct and copy any URL, or custom field description.
