Problem with installing RedDog

Open quocviet0908 opened this issue 5 years ago • 2 comments

Hi everyone. I'm trying to install RedDog pipeline onto my personal computer with linux-based system (and I'm not an expert on Linux).

Following the guide at step #2 to obtain the current version of RedDog, the command "module load etc etc" just won't work at my destination folder.

Guessing the problem must be the module command, I tried installing both Environmental Modules and Lmod and none of them seems to be working (the module: command not found keeps popping up).

I would be happy if anyone can help me to solve this issue. Thanks for your help.

Hi,

If running it on a laptop, you need to set 'distributed' to False and install the required packages the once only, just making sure you install them on the PATH. Then set the number of 'procs' to the number of cores on your laptop. It should then work locally without the 'module load' bit.

Forgot to say both these variable are in the config file. cheers, David

Hi David, Thanks for your suggestion, I've managed to initiate the pipeline without the "module load" (though I have not actually run it completely yet since I'm trying to get the simulated data for the tutorial). I think when I get the required data to run everything will go smooth.

Thanks again for your help. Viet.
