Add support for additional dimensionality reduction methods
Dear @kassambara,
I very much like factoextra
and I'm happy that it has recently been featured in the Ten quick tips for effective dimensionality reduction at PLoS Computation Biology. Hope you are still developing it?
I would be very interested if you could add support to visualize outputs from additional R functions dedicated to Dimensionality Reduction.
Searching through the issues, I saw that support for the vegan package vegan package has already been requested and that you have posted some instruction on how to extend factoextra
to other packages at https://github.com/kassambara/factoextra/issues/23#issuecomment-269871181.
I would personally be interested in using factoextra
to visualize output from vegan as well as from adaptive generalized PCA (adaptiveGPCA) for microbiome analysis: https://github.com/jfukuyama/adaptiveGPCA/issues/4#issue-879130806.
Being aware of the abundance of methods for dimensionality reduction (see figure below from the dimRed
vignette), I think R packages that provide unifying collections of dimensionality reduction methods including the following could be prioritized:
- Rdimtools: Dimension Reduction and Estimation Methods
- dimRed: A Framework for Dimensionality Reduction
- dyndimred: Dimensionality Reduction Methods in a Common Format
Would be happy to hear how you feel about this.
