[Feature Request] - AutoScaling - Multiple Subnets / Multiple VM providers for one Autoscale Config

Open GadgetGeekNI opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. I want to utilize multiple AWS AZ's to support a more reliable architecture. Currently I have to create 2 AutoScale Configurations & 2 VM providers just to support 2 subnets, this means that I will always have 2 agents up when it's not necessary.

Describe the solution you'd like Either the ability to select Multiple Subnets in a single Autoscaling configuration or multiple VM providers for one AutoScale Configuration rather than a 1-1 configuration. image

Describe alternatives you've considered There isn't really one at this point.

Additional context Add any other context or screenshots about the feature request here.

Sorry for the late response, but just wanted to send you a message that we understand and recognize the request.

One option might be to accept a list of AZs and do a simple random choice load balance between them. If the desire is to ensure you aren't fully reliant on an AZ, this may be sufficient,

Hi there,

That's exactly what I'm after. At the moment we're running two AZ configurations which means 2 agents always up. Not the most cost effective method. I'd love to utilize 4 AZ's but I can't justify the cost of having 4 agents up 24/7 as we're using t3.2xlarge agents.

Ideally a load balanced option would be perfect to make sure that the load is evenly split across multiple AZ's.

I look forward to seeing further developments on this.
