Generalized hypergeometric function?

Hi all (especially @skaug),

There's many sampling designs that are reasonably analyzed using an "N-mixture" model, and recent work (http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/biom.12521/full) shows a closed-form solution for this likelihood involving a generalized hypergeometric function (below Eq. 1 in paper).

Does anyone know if there's an templated implementation suitable for AD for the generalized hypergeometric function?

I am not aware of any suitable code for this.

At a future ADMB/TMB meeting we might invite a specialist on "special functions" to discuss the topic of how to most easily import numerically stable versions of various special functions.
