Viberwrapper indicator is not working
i'm having this issue runing viberwrapper-indicator using elementary OS Freya 0.3 Stable version with the latest version of viberwrapper-indicator and Viber for Linux
Using SYSTEM icons
Using OLD detection method (INTERNAL)
Launching Viber (/opt/viber/Viber) ... OK
Exiting because of exception 'WindowIsNone: Window is None'
Same result on Ubuntu 14.04/Gnome flashback(metacity)
Something like this on Ubuntu 15.04
~$ viberwrapper-indicator Using SYSTEM icons Exiting because of exception 'UnicodeDecodeError: utf8'
@bil-elmoussaoui What window manager/compositor does Freya use? I made this with unity/compiz in mind and if it's not something simple I'm not very confident that I'll have the time to make it work.
@faceontable That could be caused by ubuntu using python 3 instead of python 2 as default. For the time being can you launch the script with python2 /path/to/viberwrapper-indicator.py
and let me know?
@karas84 Freya uses Pantheon desktop manager with Gala instead of Compiz. But it's uses libappindicator too. I think you should switch to python-libappindicator ; that will help you a lot (if you aren't already using it)
@bil-elmoussaoui I'm already using the appindicator library (python-appindicator), maybe it just needs some debugging. I'll add some debug code, in the meantime can you try launching the script with both --use-old-detection-method --use-external-detector
options (it should say Using OLD detection method (EXTERNAL)
?
That's why i got
python2 viberwrapper-indicator.py --use-old-detection-method --use-external-detector
Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "pantheon-filechooser-module"
Using SYSTEM icons
Using OLD detection method (EXTERNAL)
Launching Viber (/opt/viber/Viber) ... OK
Exiting because of exception 'WindowIsNone: Window is None'
@karas84
python2 /usr/bin/viberwrapper-indicator Using SYSTEM icons Exiting because of exception 'UnicodeDecodeError: utf8'
