Persistent re-authentication

Every time I am trying to forward multiple, separate email threads, the extension asks to be authenticated. When I send only 1 email thread (with multiple emails), it does not ask to be authenticated. I'm not sure if this is for security or a bug, but I couldn't find it in the documentation.
