New idea. We move all files to a platform-specific folder: something like `~/.share/joe` or something like that. We can have the gitignore repo there, and custom files.

Can you update the README as well with details instructions on how to enable completion?

I was having the same issue with PIA, and after switching to nextgen configs (instead of "current"), so far it's been stable.

Absolutely need to do this. What about using Internet Archive? If needed, I have a few TB of storage on my NAS I can donate on temporary basis as well.
