Google Photos lists only empty folders

Currently setting up google Photos and ran into the problem that all folders are correctly listed but don't show any files when trying to open them. This problem does not appear when trying it via the commandline:

rclone ls Gphotos:album lists all photos available and rclone copy Gphotos:album/example.jpg D:\ also downloads an image to my local PC

I'm running Version 1.8.0 on Windows 1909 with rclone v1.55.1

EDIT: I also tried it out on my second PC running 1.8.0 as well but on Windows 20H2 and the problem is still there
