Support for metadata from JPEG/Raw images
Hi,
There are some metadata specification e.g. Exif, IPTC, XMP. QuickViewer currently understands some JPEG Exif using easyexif, but it is inadequate. Obtaining metadata from Raw images has not worked well.
If you know a better way, please show me.
I think that Exiv2 is one of the better options, but the library seems to be big.

I made a prototype, but this may be too many items. We need a function to reduce the number of groups.
There are problems in Jpeg Exif information. I tried Jpeg files from Olympus and Panasonic cameras. Quickviewer's Exif info displayed 0 to the ShutterSpeedValue, SubjectDistance, BitsPerSample, FocalLengthIn35mm entries in all photos.
Could you please add an option to display limited Exif Info in a small box on the photo like Fastpictureview? Using a large column on the right side to show Exif can be wasting the display area when you don't need so many detailed Exif view.
Current QuickViewer does Exif's survey using simple library (easyexif), not all digital cameras are supported.
If the functions contained in this topic are realized, it will be possible to display JPEG meta information of more digital cameras.
Exiv2 is bigger but better. iIf it is too big, TinyEXIF may be another option.
Hi, Have you tried exiftool from: https://sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/ it is open source and free, and I have had good results with it. It also reports exposure time as a rational fraction, rather than a decimal fraction only. The rational fraction is much more intuitive! Grant H
Thank you very much for letting us know. I have seen this tool included in XnView MP.
It is a mechanism that enables Exiv2 to be executed on the command line as a mechanism, and it is a good choice when an application not wanting to GPL wants to use Exiv 2.
However, QuickViewer is a GPL, so even if distributed with Exiv 2 there is no license problem. So it would be better to use Exiv2 directly.
