Center Actions
Description
It would be very useful if it was possible to assign an action to the center of the menu. This would let you trigger an action by just pressing the key command for the menu and not move the mouse if you turbo-mode. Useful if you have a menu assigned to a normal letter and still want to use this letter to write in text fields ect.

Thanks for the suggestion! There had been a similar feature in Gnome-Pie: One of the menu items could be chosen to be the "Quick Action". And if the user clicked onto the center, the quick action would be activated. A similar thing could be added to Kando, I guess.
It also would be great if it supported different mouse buttons! This way you could customize various rocker gestures, which is especially useful when using additional mouse side buttons for showing Kando.
I came up with a use case: for instance, using the scroll wheel on the center menu to trigger Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+Tab. This way, you could quickly switch tabs in the browser, which would be incredibly convenient. If this feature is implemented, I could truly abandon mouse gesture software.

This would be really helpful! also open up to various interesting possibilities...
I also want Center Actions. There are various use cases.
The problem that led me here
I want to replicate these gestures in kando so that I can use these gestures in any browser I want, providing me a consistent UX.
my current scenario for triggering "New Window" in Kando, based on the provided screenshot: required gesture: "Left then up" experience:
- starting the pie menu
- Going left (gets me to a submenu)
- Going Up (gets me to a Menu Item of "Simulate Hotkey")
- Release to run the hotkey
it works. But, if I want to go back, I have to do this:
- starting the pie menu
- Going left (gets me to a submenu)
- Release to run the hotkey
but currently center parts of menu/submenu do not have actions. It serves as a useful function: cancelling current thing or going back to previous menu (if in a submenu)
but advanced users will love the extra Center Actions instead of cancelling. Cancelling could be done using another specified button.
Advantages
Making the center part have several advantages.
- Clicking on center part:
- It will allow assigning a one-time function to the center part. (be it the root center part or the center part of a submenu)
- Rocker functions:
- while mouse is over the center part, mouse scrolling could be useful to bind something that needs gradual change/repeatative presses.
Example use case
For example, I can think of a control center like menu:
The functionalities: Root menu Center Action: None (Cancel)
Volume Section
Scroll to change the volume.
Monitor Section
Scroll to change the brightness.
Current Playing Section:
Release to trigger play/pause. No Scroll action
Thank you for reading till the end. I would love to see this implemented. 😃
Another thing to keep in mind, if a submenu center has scroll or click action, an indicator might help. it might be a small icon/colored line/border or any other way to signify that there are some action associated with mouse click or scroll. And yes, in the future, if people demands, an option to toggle the indicators off to keep it clean.
found a related feature request, so, mentioning here: Action on mouse scroll/Knob like menu #796
