🚨 Looking for maintainer(s)!

Open kalkih opened this issue 1 year ago • 5 comments

Hey 👋

Many have noticed that the project has experienced minimal development activity over the past year, raising concerns in the project being abandoned (#782). Due to other commitments and a shift in my personal interests, I haven't been able to dedicate the necessary time and attention that this project truly deserves.

In response to this, I am reaching out to see if anyone is interested in joining as a maintainer. Your assistance in any capacity, be it maintenance, code reviews, releases, further development, or other forms of contribution, would be immensely valuable and help ensure the project receives the attention it and its users rightly deserve.

Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or directly in the thread below.

Though my current activity is limited, I am committed to ensuring that our project remains compatible with new releases of Home Assistant.

A big thank you to everyone who uses and contributes to the project; your involvement is greatly appreciated.

I've long abandoned coding; but can commit to testing and feedback, if that helps.

There are already some people trying to help code updates in the pull request. Could we start there?

Those PRs need to be reviewed to make sure they (a) do what they say and (b) don't do what they don't say (i.e. break things). This issue is a request for volunteers to be in charge of making sure that those reviews get done (likely by testing the PRs themselves) and merging the code in.
