add "encumbrance" condition alongside the others

Open cojoMan opened this issue 4 years ago • 5 comments

The other conditions that can be toggled all translate well back to FVTT which I am using for my DnD game. I am also using the variant encumbrance rule - and that can easily tip over from an overzealous rogue carying 3 !!! crowbars. As a result - DNDB red-displays the ENCUMBERED, or HEAVILY ENCUMBERED right there, but being on the equipment tab - I cannot always fault my players for missing it. I understand the condition is in a different spot, but would it be possible to somehow switch an encumbered icon similar to how poisoned, paralyzed, etc does ? Thanks.

does DnDBeyond explicitly set a "Condition" for encumbered?

It doesn't appear in the conditions section if that is what you mean, but it does appear in the DNDB sheet like so... enc

I'll leave the full answer to @kakaroto, but this would be quite a bit more difficult to do then, as it isn't just part of "Conditions"

The speed field changes as well - I am after either an encumbrance condition icon when that happens - or speed value update if that is easier ? Not sure on how to proceed - maybe there is smth like this out there already, and I am asking into the wrong place :) But the other conditions came along quite nice, so I thought this might do too.

This is indeed quite a bit more complex to handle, because you'd have to be in the inventory tab for it to notice it. And if you open a new tab to your sheet, Beyond20 wouldn't know what the previous state was, etc.. so it adds a few complications. It's not impossible to do, but it's harder, and it's also quite an edge case. Pushing it for a future version maybe.
