"Invalid audio files" dialog is permanent

Open msp2 opened this issue 3 months ago • 3 comments

Once the "Invalid audio files" dialog message appears under the left end of the "Analyzer" button in the "Batch analysis" tab in BirdNET-Analyzer GUI version 2.3.0 package installed by "BirdNET-Analyzer-2.3.0-win_amd64.exe", the message is never refreshed. It remains even when valid sound files are processed, BirdNET-Analyzer GUI is closed, or BirdNET-Analyzer GUI is uninstalled, the contents of "%userdata%\AppData\Roaming\BirdNET-Analyzer-GUI" deleted, and BirdNET-Analyzer GUI is reinstalled.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. In the "Batch analysis" tab, click the "Select Input directory (recursive)" button and select a directory in which there is one or more invalid sound files. (The "Invalid sound files" dialog is apparently triggered if a csv file with sound file paths is in the input directory.)
  2. Set up the rest of the "Batch analysis" tab as desired and click the "Analyzer" button.
  3. If the "Invalid audio files" dialog message is triggered, then it will remain on the GUI even if valid sound files are processed.

It would be preferable if any "Invalid audio files" dialog message disappeared each time a new input directory is selected by clicking on the "Select input directory (recursive)" button or when BirdNET-Analyzer GUI is re-opened.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Windows 11
  • Version: BirdNET-Analyzer GUI version 2.3.0 package installed by "BirdNET-Analyzer-2.3.0-win_amd64.exe"

Guys, please refer to this comment from another issue. "Invalid Audio Files" is a heading.

I see that it is confusing for some users, we'll probably change it in the next version.
