it's not currently possible. goofys should probably support the same aws cli convention (ie: `file://` and `fileb://`). Could you submit a PR?

ah I meant to include this link: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/cli/latest/userguide/cli-usage-parameters.html#cli-usage-parameters-file I believe the difference is purely about whether to open the file as binary or text, which only really makes a difference...

can you post `--debug_s3` logs?

what were you doing at the time? How much memory was goofys using? How much memory do you have total? Is this reproducible?

did you check file within 1 minute or after 1 minute?
