Yes, I suppose there isn't much we can do about it. I would say the fastest way to do it is to select both satin, hit Ctrl+K to combine them...
... or we could ask the Inkscape team if for them that is wanted behaviour or not.

I could imagine that pip is confused about setuptools being installed as a distribution package and not by pip itself?! You could try to uninstall setuptools and run requirements again.
