Volume is incorrectly increased while playing

Open keesma opened this issue 2 years ago • 3 comments

While squeezer is playing it sometimes suddenly changes the volume to a much higher level while playing music from my media server. I cannot see what is triggering this. It can happen a couples of times a day.

I am running Squeezer 2.2.9 on a Google Pixel 6 Pro.

Same here on a Pixel 6. If I change the volume with the hard keys while Squeezer is shown, it sends the volume to LMS correctly. But if I change the volume when Squeezer is in the background or the display is off, the volume change is done only "locally" on the phone, not on LMS. At the end of a track shortly before the next track starts, the volume of the phone jumps back to the value that is still set on LMS.

@eengnr Unfortunately volume control in the background does not work on Android 12, see details here: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/201546605?pli=1

@keesma To my knowledge, Squeezer doesn't send volume changes to LMS on its own.

To investigate this further, I have a couple of questions.

Does this only happen when using Squeezer, or can it also happen when LMS is playing without using Squeezer?

Does this happen only happen when or shortly after you adjusted the volume using Squeezer?
