Remove parentheses for assertions

This removes the warning: :1: SyntaxWarning: assertion is always true, perhaps remove parentheses?

@easyteacher -- StormReactor is now up to date with the latest versions of swmm, swmm-python, and pyswmm. It will now be easier to make additional updates. If you're interested in making the changes you suggested in 2021, we would be happy to have them. Thank you! :)
