Reversed controls on steamdeck

the left and right flippers are mapped to the right and left steamdeck triggers, repectively (i.e., reversed). When i go to change the mappings in the settings and press the correct triggers to assign the flippers correctly, it does not recognize them as controller inputs and instead assigns them as mouse inputs.
